Terrazo is a Hospitality Group that offers a complete gastronomic experience that begins in its restaurants, where diners can enjoy a wide variety of dishes from the menu accompanied by an extensive selection of wines and beers.

Terrazo boasts an impressive cellar housing over 1,000 wine references from around the world, alongside options for tapas and takeaway or dine-in menus. Additionally, the establishments' supermarket offers a variety of essential and cleaning products, allowing customers to fulfill all their needs in one place and save time.

Objective

The project required reliable monitoring of the advanced cooling systems of the facilities. The goals were as follows:

• Controlling the temperature to ensure the quality of the products.
• Avoid temperature fluctuations to save energy and reduce costs.
• Constant monitoring to prevent food waste.
• Contributing to sustainability by reducing the environmental footprint.
• Ensuring the freshness of products to enhance the customer experience.

Solution

Pentasoft, as an AWS Certified Partner deployed Neuron, our affordable IoT sensor monitoring SaaS solution. Neuron harnesses the full potential of AWS IoT Core services, delivering a comprehensive suite of tools that empower Terrazo with cutting-edge monitoring and alarm delivery capabilities (email & whatsapp) for its cold storage units.

For this project, we installed LoRaWAN sensors, with wireless connectivity and battery-powered technology (lasts for years) for autonomous operation. Additionally, we utilized a 4G LoRaWAN gateway that ensures robust data transmission and is completely independent of local network. The deployment process is remarkably swift, typically completed within a couple of hours, and doesn't interfere with any existing device or installation in place.

This combination of expertise and technology enables Terrazo to achieve enhanced monitoring functionalities and unlock advanced insights for their operations. In addition to meeting the stringent requirements, the project went above and beyond by incorporating a robust monitoring solution enhanced with advanced analytics and business intelligence capabilities, specifically Amazon QuickSight.
